To facilitate the above and put our ambitions into practice, we are seeking a motivated colleague with a passion for safety to strengthen the Health & Safety team as an Health & Safety Governance Expert (H&S Auditor).

Your responsibilities

As an H&S Governance Expert (H&S Auditor), you are an expert on the H&S Audit, Risk, and process management. You audit internal processes and external contractors and check compliance with internal rules, legislation, and regulations and also whether employees are following internal procedures. You advise on improvements to processes and changes to policy. Your advice ensures the company has the information it needs to make informed H&S decisions and the improvements necessary to achieve the H&S objectives and the "ActNow" ambitions.

The most important tasks and responsibilities of the H&S Governance Expert (H&S Auditor) are as follows:

Internal governance (50%):

To develop, maintain and expand the Elia Document Management System (DMS) and H&S Risk Management System (RMS) and ensure both are used correctly;
To optimise and document the H&S processes;
Help the organisation and the Health, Safety and Security Department with the H&S Audit, Risk and process management.

Auditing (50%):

To develop, plan and implement H&S and compliance-monitoring audits and site visits, both internally (within your own organisation) and externally (contractors), both in the context of ISO and SCL certification;
To advise and develop H&S action plans in consultation with the relevant department managers (including stakeholder management) and monitor the implementation of these action plans;
To act as Lead Auditor for all H&S audits and support internal and external audits.

You have at least 5 years' auditing experience;
You preferably have a Prevention Advisor Level 1 or 2 certificate and experience with ISO and/or SCL certification;
You are familiar with company structures and can conduct audits independently;
You have strong communication skills and diplomacy and feel comfortable at all levels of an organization;

You have a problem-solving approach and a well-developed analytical ability;
You are reliable and honest and have a proactive, pragmatic and hands-on mentality;
You have a very good knowledge of French AND Dutch (both oral and written) and a good knowledge of English.
