Job description

Contract Manager Wind

Eoly Energy is hiring a Contract Manager Wind to joint our Wind team. You will be responsible for contacting leads to start new wind projects in Belgium and for negotiating contracts with landowners to support Eoly Energy in its current and future wind energy projects.

Who is Eoly Energy?

Eoly Energy is a leading Belgian producer of renewable energy. It was founded in 2013 and is a member of Virya Energy, a Belgian energy company that focuses on renewable energy.

In recent years, Eoly Energy has developed end-to-end capabilities in the entire energy value chain. This means that Eoly Energy now has the skills and expertise to develop, build, and operate renewable energy projects from start to finish.

Eoly Energy manages all onshore wind activities of the Virya Energy group in Belgium. This means that Eoly Energy is responsible for the development, construction, and operation of all onshore wind energy projects in Belgium for Virya Energy. Eoly Energy is also working on the rapid international growth of the group.

Next to its activities in Wind energy, Eoly is also kickstarting the development of a solar (photovoltaic) energy practice in the country.

Together with its French sister company Eurowatt, Eoly Energy has ambitious plans to develop onshore wind and solar projects that will make a constant contribution to the transition to CO2 neutrality. This means that Eoly Energy is committed to developing renewable energy projects that will help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.

As contract manager Wind, your objective is to contribute to the development of our wind project portfolio by carrying out the following tasks:

  • Based on proposals coming from the Wind team, you will contact landowners and tenants in Flanders and Wallonia, particularly in rural areas
  • You secure land for wind projects, by concluding agreements and drawing up contracts, with the help of our legal expert
  • Thanks to your existing and/or future network, you bring new wind energy project opportunities to the Wind team and you build a network of contacts
  • You are the antenna and contact point of our company for property owners and local residents
  • You work closely with members of the Business Development team and report on your efforts to the Expansion Managers and the Head of Development department
  • You participate in project consultation meetings

As part of Eoly's diversification into solar PV energy, the scope of your activities could also include securing land for solar projects, either on a stand-alone basis, or as part of hybrid projects (wind and solar) that could be developed in-house.

  • You are convinced by the role of renewable energies in the future and you want to contribute actively to the energy transition in Belgium. You are eager to work in a growing company and build on new wind energy business activities.
  • You have a college obtained commercial degree, or equivalent.
  • You speak Dutch or French, but can also express yourself fluently in the other country language. Knowledge of English is an asset.
  • You have a commercial attitude and get satisfaction from achieving commercial objectives.
  • You preferably have negotiating experience.
  • Experience in permit procedures is an asset.
  • You can easily enter into dialogue with targeted partners, with a focus on the world of agriculture. Professional experience in or related to agriculture is an asset.
  • You are not deterred by difficult negotiations. You can listen to both supporters and opponents of a project.
  • You are able to structure and monitor contracts. Experience in CRM or contract management would be an asset.
  • You are able to convince stakeholders of the ecological objectives of our projects.
  • You are empathetic and can put yourself in the shoes of the person you are dealing with.
  • You are prepared to travel long distances within Belgium and work flexible hours if required for contract negotiations.

  • You're in it for the long run. As well as short-term success, it's certainly the long-term results that can motivate you.

  • A full-time position, 38 hours per week.
