Senior Trade Compliance Manager (Risk Oversight), Global Trade Services


Global Trade Services (GTS) is looking for an experienced people manager who can lead a team of customs / trade professionals to develop our global trade risk oversight programs.

In this role, you will be leading a team of trade professionals to oversee the development and implementation of customs and trade risk monitoring frameworks; drive the development of key metrics that measure customs valuation health and other trade risk health; develop scaled continuous risk monitoring solutions for our cross border programs; provide timely key insights and improvement opportunities to senior leadership, business and legal stakeholders.


  • Set strategic direction for customs and trade risk monitoring;
  • Develop and Implement Customs Risk Monitoring Frameworks;
  • Engage with product and technical teams to influence road-map for internal systems used to drive continuous and scaled risk monitoring;
  • Provide accurate and timely risk reporting to senior leadership and staekholders

A day in the life
In this role no two days will be exactly the same but regular activities will include:

  • Drafting recommendations on how to meet trade and customs risk monitoring requirements for our cross-border programs;
  • Working with business, legal and logistics stakeholders to develop risk monitoring frameworks and solutions.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to define requirements for Amazon's systems, driving relevant risk monitoring programs.
  • Working across different teams to troubleshoot issues and drive ongoing process improvements.


About the team
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Customs Valuation Governance in the Global Trade Services (GTS) function. GTS is responsible for providing global trade and product compliance support for Amazon businesses, creating efficient processes that meet demanding cross border regulations, while minimizing impact to the business.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Luxembourg, LUX


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Extensive and direct experience in area of trade compliance or program / project management
  • Experience providing program strategic planning that drives operational impact
  • Experience building trade compliance solutions across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to use data to assess risk and impact and analyze trade-offs
  • Consistently demonstrates sound judgment and takes action even in highly ambiguous situations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Custom valuation subject matter expertise with an understanding of the impact to business operations
  • Basic understanding of accounting, transfer pricing
